I spent much of July concentrating on taking stock of Shetland moorland subjects. Whimbrels were still holding territory and thus made good subjects to work with close to home. Photographed hand held with a Canon 1D Mark III attached to a Canon EF300mm f/2.8L IS USM lens and 1.4x EFII converter. Spot exposure was set manually at f5.6 @ 1/1250 sec. at ISO 400.
